Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a medical treatment used for many medical conditions. It can be used as a primary treatment of part of a combined treatment approach. During this treatment the patient sits in a chamber that becomes pressurized and therefore increases the oxygen level in the blood and body tissues. This promotes an environment that helps the body do what it naturally wants to do, heal itself!

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions are around 80-90 minutes long. During this time in the chamber you are free to read, use electronics, do crossword puzzles, or take a nap. It is a time for you to relax! During the treatment you may feel fullness in your ears similar to what you may feel while flying or driving in the mountains. To help with this you may chew gum, drink water, or use any other resources to help with this feeling.

There is a long list of conditions that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been found to help. Some include post-stroke recovery, arthritis, concussions, diabetes, wound healing, Alzheimer’s disease, migraines, and Multiple Sclerosis. This is not an all inclusive list.
